another successful trip to Commerce Casino. I think the secret for me is to play midday/early evening and only play 2-3 hours.

decided to hit commerce today after work. It was a good idea. I ended up at a table of fantastically bad and easy to read/play players*. Played a mixture of Tight/Aggressive and totally insano. Only lost one race when I had all my chips in (straight flush draw that didn't pan out). I'd still be playing if I didn't have to get up in the morning and if I weren't literally falling asleep at the table.

*favorite player was the guy who was sitting in seat 2, rebuying every other hand. Yay for poor players with lots of money!

I'm not impressed. Really. AGI is apparently not just the value that you've got on your previous year's 1040 as you so kindly led me to believe. Hopefully there won't be lots of penalty for having to refile 3 times so far.

VW credit is high on my shitlist this week. I paid this month's car payment which somehow made it to my apartment with an incorrect address. Last month's apparently did not make it here. I have been trying for the last year to get all of the addresses associated with that account moved to my current address. They haven't managed to do it yet. Grr.

And I had a charge rejected yesterday. Never had that happen before. Turns out the number was being used by someone else. Yay fraud.

pixels per inch

Wow, the Sony P has close to 165 pixels per inch. Those who know my taste in monitors, know I like lots of pixels in not much space. I have a feeling that even with that density, the 8" screen and comparably miniaturized keyboard would bother me. I just wish I could get that kind of density in a 13.x" screen.

if you are/were a user of the gallery on tarnishedgiraffe.com, let me know if you want an account again. I had to do a dirty upgrade to get it running again and lost a ton of meta data and all users. Everything's been re-arranged, so if you're linking to the images, they'll probably break at some point.

The migration effort took around 10 hours all told. Lame that I couldn't just do the upgrade.

First impressions
1) why do I have to reboot when I install a compiler?
2) The UI takes about 300MB of RAM to run. I imagine this number will keep going up the more complex the project. It takes about 30 seconds to open a new project.
3) The language itself doesn't seem too bad.
4) I'm still not a huge fan of auto-complete for code development.
5) The UI designer is pretty much the same as every other one I've used.

The whole point of this is to learn enough C# to fiddle with writing stuff for the Xbox360.

Weird. The Dakar Rally is in South America this year. I guess the Paris-Dakar route just got too easy or dangerous? Guess it makes some sense after scratching last year's rally.
